Terms and Conditions

Oxalis Portal

Last updated: 3 September 2026

1. About these Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern access to and use of the Oxalis Portal ("the Portal"), the online platform Oxalis Academy uses for teaching, coursework, scheduling, communication, and school administration.

The Portal is operated by Oxalis Academy, Av. Marechal Carmona, 903, 2750-313 Cascais, Portugal ("Oxalis", "we", "us" or "our"). By signing in to and using the Portal, you agree to these Terms.

These Terms cover use of the Portal itself. Enrolment, fees, and the wider relationship between Oxalis and a student/family are governed separately by the Oxalis Academy Terms and Conditions published on oxaliseducation.com and any enrolment agreement you have signed. Where the two documents conflict on a matter specific to using the Portal, these Terms apply.

2. Who may use the Portal

Access to the Portal is limited to authorised Oxalis Academy accounts: current students, parents/guardians, tutors, and staff. Accounts are created or approved by Oxalis and are not transferable. For a student under 18, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for how the student's account is used.

3. Accounts, credentials and security

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. You must not share your password, let anyone else use your account, or attempt to access another person's account or data.

Tell us immediately at admin@oxaliseducation.com if you suspect your account has been compromised or used without authorisation.

4. Acceptable use

You must use the Portal only for its intended educational and administrative purposes, and must not:

  • attempt to access accounts, records, or areas of the Portal you are not authorised to see;
  • circumvent authentication, permissions, or other security controls;
  • probe, scan, or test the Portal for vulnerabilities without our prior written authorisation;
  • introduce malware or other harmful code, or interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Portal;
  • scrape, harvest, or extract data from the Portal by automated means without authorisation;
  • upload unlawful, abusive, or harassing content, or impersonate another person; or
  • use the Portal in a way that breaches applicable law.

Suspected misuse may result in immediate suspension of access while we investigate, and we reserve the right to report unlawful conduct to the competent authorities.

5. Academic integrity

Coursework, assessments, and exam materials submitted through the Portal must be your own work unless collaboration is explicitly permitted. Plagiarism, unauthorised assistance, or impersonation may result in academic penalties in accordance with Oxalis Academy's academic policies.

6. Content and intellectual property

The Portal, and the teaching materials, coursework templates, and other content made available through it, are owned by or licensed to Oxalis and protected by applicable intellectual-property law. You may access and use this content for your own study or work at Oxalis Academy, and may not copy, redistribute, or publish it elsewhere without permission.

You retain any rights you hold in work you submit through the Portal (such as coursework). By submitting it, you grant Oxalis a limited right to store, access, and use that work as reasonably necessary to teach, assess, and administer your education.

7. Availability and changes to the Portal

We aim to keep the Portal available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, change, or temporarily suspend features of the Portal, including for maintenance or security reasons, and will aim to keep disruption to a minimum.

8. Communication

Official communication about lessons, coursework, meetings, and school administration may be sent through the Portal, email, or other channels approved by Oxalis. Please keep your contact details up to date and check Portal notifications regularly.

9. Privacy and data protection

Personal data processed through the Portal is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, why, and your rights.

10. Liability

We provide the Portal with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, Oxalis is not liable for indirect losses, or for issues arising from a device, internet connection, or software outside our control. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including mandatory rights under Portuguese consumer or data-protection law.

11. Suspension and termination of access

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Portal where reasonably necessary, including for a breach of these Terms, a safeguarding concern, or because your relationship with Oxalis Academy has ended (for example on leaving the school or completing a course).

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect legal, security, or operational changes. The latest version is always available on this page, with the updated date shown above. Continued use of the Portal after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Portuguese courts have jurisdiction over disputes, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.

14. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to admin@oxaliseducation.com, or by post to Oxalis Academy, Av. Marechal Carmona, 903, 2750-313 Cascais, Portugal.
